The Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance is a family friendly, camping world music festival which takes place twice a year - always the first full weekend of May and the first full weekend of October. In 2026, Spring Shakori will be May 7-10, 2026, and Fall Shakori will be October 1-4, 2026.Check out the event website HERE.

We will be tabling at the event to connect with the community about meaningful civic engagement and a better way forward for North Carolina politics. Volunteers will be available to talk with voters about the Forward Party’s vision for practical, nonpartisan solutions and to help eligible residents sign our ballot-access petition so more voices and choices can be represented in future elections.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please sign up for a shift and our coordination team will be in touch with next steps. Volunteers will receive materials such as a “Not Left. Not Right. Forward.” t-shirt and outreach supplies. An event lead will be onsite all four days, so you’ll never be on your own. Volunteering is a great way to connect with the team, engage the community, and help shape ideas for moving North Carolina Forward. We hope you’ll join us.
